Like peanut butter and jelly, a jointer and planer go together. If you really want to produce perfectly flat, straight, and square wood, you’ll need both. Having a hard time deciding which you should buy first? Go ahead, get ’em both in a combo machine. Grizzly’s Jointer/Planer Combination machine (#G0675), $1,195, does both planing and jointing operations. In addition to saving you some dough over buying both machines separately, a combo machine save valuable floor space. Converting from one machine to another, according to Grizzly, is simple.
The machine has a 10″ width capacity, and comes with a 2-1/2 hp 220-volt motor. Overall bed length on the jointer is 40-15/16″. It’s got a two-knife cutterhead, with high speed steel knives. Feed rate on the planer function is single speed at 16 feet-per-minute.
