This Arts and Crafts style hall tree provides a great solution. It’s small enough to fit into a tight space, but large enough to store a surprising volume of outerwear and gear. It features hooks for hanging coats and backpacks, hidden storage for boots and shoes, and a convenient bench to sit on while tying shoes.

Mortise and tenon joinery will hold it together for generations.
